How It Works

The Formula Flags

Each work order carries a Due_Date, a Status field, and a Priority level. The Overdue_Work_Order formula checks two conditions: the due date has passed AND the status is not "Completed" or "Cancelled." When both are true, the flag fires.

A second formula calculates Days_Overdue so you can sort and prioritize by severity, not just by original due date.

The Event Alerts

When a work order's computed status changes to "Overdue," the automation evaluates the coalesce chain: assigned technician email, then team lead email, then facility manager email. The first non-empty address receives the alert. This means orphaned work orders — those with no technician assigned — still get surfaced instead of falling through the cracks.

The Scheduled Digest
